Are you thinking about doing SEO or Pay Per Click Advertising?
Both are great strategies for generating leads for your business and you should be using both in your marketing plan. Let’s discuss the differences and how both marketing efforts will help you generate more sales for your business.
SEO ( Search Engine Optimization)
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it has to do with optimizing your website and content to rank on the search engines, most likely on Google.com which has the biggest traffic for online searches. The first thing you need to know about SEO is that SEO is a long term strategy, it takes 1-2 years to make a website rank, sometimes even more time with difficult niches with very competitive keywords. SEO is great because this is organic traffic, meaning you will not be paying per click. This is huge because this will save you a lot of money on advertising, but getting to the point where the page actually generates that traffic for you will take some time. This is when Pay Per Click can be a good strategy, PPC is faster to produce results but this requires an investment.
PPC (Pay Per Click)
Pay Per Click Adverting is basically buying ads on Google or Bing, every time someone searches for a product or service on the search engine if your ads pops up and people click on it, then you will be charge for that click. PPC is great because this strategy can work faster than SEO but it does require some investment. How much? It varies by industry. Some keywords are expensive, some not so much. But not everyone buys so you need lots of clicks, calls, form submissions to generate the traffic you need, then on top of that sometimes the weak component is not leads but sales conversion rates, due to sales script, pricing, or sometimes people are not reachable or take too much time to reach back.
