Picture resolution is a very important topic when it comes to digital marketing. All pictures should be 72 dpi when uploaded to your website. There is no need to have high resolution images which will take a long time to load.  One of the best picture format is a basic jpg, if you have the option to mess with the quality option, try setting it to about 50 to 60% picture quality.
